first_imgClub faces sanction after player shows Putin shirt ISTANBUL (AP): European football’s governing body charged Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow and one of its players with improper conduct on Wednesday for revealing a picture of Russian President Vladimir Putin on his T-shirt after a politically charged game in Turkey. UEFA rules prohibit political statements at its matches, and the laws of football ban players from revealing images and slogans on underclothing. Lokomotiv player Dmitri Tarasov took off his team shirt to reveal the Putin T-shirt after his team lost to Turkish side Fenerbahce 2-0 in Istanbul on Tuesday in the Europa League. Emblazoned beneath the image of Putin wearing a Russian navy cap were the words in Russian: “The most polite president.” UEFA said its disciplinary panel will judge the case on March 17. Unknown Bling Online Ponio Flower Hair Elastics – Flower not what I would think of as big

first_imgI’ve used one of the hair bands to tie up a ponytail but it will keep a bun in place. Not bad the little girls loved them. Brought for daughter to wear to school. Colour matches her uniform brilliant. Looks gorgeous in hair to buncheys. Being large flowers shows nicely in hair. As it says but not what i needed. There a little smaller then i thought, but i just where the two together, the bands are fabric not the normal elastic kind. Reviews from purchasers :My hair will be in a side bun and these fit nicely and just the right sizePerfect for schoolFlower not what I would think of as big Lovely flowered hairbands very pleased with them just what i was looking for. Looked pretty but the flowers fell off after a week. Got these for my daughter who has very thick hair. These have nice stretchy bands. I do put a plain hair elastic underneath as it has to last all day at school. Looks pretty and adds a bit of interest to plaits and pony tails. The flower was pretty but i don’t like the stretchy material even though is advertised accurately, i should have read the description better. I prefer normal bands that hold the hair tighter. The flower isn’t really what i would call big either but it is still a cute hair accessory. Flower not what i would think of as big. On Refusing to Take In New Information

first_imgWhat new information have you taken in that is wildly at odds with what you have always known? What beliefs have you changed in the last three years? What new actions have stemmed from those new beliefs? One of the best ways to get stuck is to refuse to take in any new information. There is new information available, but it conflicts with what you believe you know to be true, so you ignore the new information. Maybe you are even offended by this new information, finding it disturbing because what you know may no longer be as valuable as it once was. There is another way to do something, but it isn’t the way you have always done what you do, so you refuse to even try it. Changing would mean that what you are doing is no longer the best way to do something, and you have done things the same way for so long, that you reflexively defend your way.Other people believe something that is at odds with what you believe, and your confirmation bias is so strong that, not only do you resist looking at how those beliefs better serve the people that hold them, you feel threatened by the very beliefs. You attack the beliefs that are different from yours.Your growth, your personal and professional development, all begin and end with your willingness to take in something new and abandon something old.You have to believe something different than what you believe now. But it takes more than an intellectual belief for you to grow and produce new results. If you really believe something, you take new actions, actions that are in line with those beliefs. Growth and improvement require that you do something different. Believing something and not acting in accordance with that belief is the same as not believing it.You also have to be willing to take in new information. You have to be curious about what other people know. As human knowledge is doubling every few years, you have to look at what we know and decide when it means you need to change. Essential Reading! Get my 2nd book: The Lost Art of Closing “In The Lost Art of Closing, Anthony proves that the final commitment can actually be one of the easiest parts of the sales process—if you’ve set it up properly with other commitments that have to happen long before the close. The key is to lead customers through a series of necessary steps designed to prevent a purchase stall.” Buy Nowlast_img read more

4 medals out of 1.2 bn people is just too few

first_imgEuphoria is good, I don’t mind it at all. India has done wonderfully well at the Olympics – four medals – our best haul ever. Wait, hold on, isn’t that good news for the collective called India? Given that as the second most populous nation, we should be like fire crackers, winning a bagful of medals. Dang, that is not to be, we are happy with what we have. As I write this, one of the grapplers Amit Kumar has been vanquished, there were a lot of oohs and aahs in the news room, but bottom line, he is out.Of course we work on the principle of four is better than one with perhaps one more medal from either Yogesh or Sushil and move on. At the very kernel of what is required to turn us into a sporting powerhouse is focus on a handful of disciplines. There was a time Pakistan was all conquering in cricket, squash and hockey. We need that kind of zeal. Boxing, badminton, shooting, wrestling and archery could be those disciplines. Build competencies in these sports, concentrate on them for better productivity and results. It is pointless sending contingents. So and so has qualified for the Games, so he should go. Junk it, look for potential medal winners. Bah, nobody remembers a loser, forget the Olympic spirit, people remember Rajyavardhan Chilli Rathore, Karnam Malleshwari and Abhinav Bindra because they stood proudly on the podium. Ditto for the medal winners this time. Amazing that the Koreans and Chinese have turned it on so quickly, how do they produce an assembly line of champions? Institutions like the Army need to be encouraged not belittled, they have helped not discouraged.advertisementWe need an elite school to produce champions, government or privately sponsored by focusing on just these five disciplines. So, while four is better than one, it doesn’t do justice to the gargantuan called India. Woe betide.last_img read more
